| | Is the PBA (Philippine Basketball Association) losing it's prestige? Charisma? | | I started to watch the PBA during the 1992 Governor's Cup Semifinals. During that conference, Swift was leading everybody and Tony Harris was their import. I think the PBA fans during the late 80's and the 90's really know who Harris is and what he's done in the PBA. He's rewritten and set new records in terms of scoring. Well, anyway, I've been a San Miguel Beer fan since 1993 until now. I watch PBA games on television every game date even if it's not y favorite team playing. The PBA was really so great during those times. Because I got so hooked to the PBA, I regularly bought magazines. I just found out that the excitement of the PBA way back in it's conception and during the 80's are more intense. It seems that every game date is a fiesta celebration for the fans.I am trying to compare the PBA now and the PBA before and I think though the players now are already a lot better than before, it somehow have lost it's glitter and pride. One thing that I've been thinking is that there are a lot of other avenues of fun and entertainment these days. Before, the PBA has been one of the major source of entertainment. | | Any member of prestige clicks in here? | | Yesterday, I received a mail from[i]Prestige Clicks[/i] announcing that "PREMIUM MEMBERS ONLY WILL BE ALLOWED TO CASHOUT".I was paid by this site once and now working on my second payout. I know that it was in their terms that all need to purchase anything after the third cashout in support for the site stability. But I did not expect this sudden change...Today when I opened my email I saw another mail from the admin it says:[b]I am sorry for my recent decision and I am turning the withdraw back on but please remember payments are a little behind and will get caught up as the site earns money
Terms are as they are stated in the FAQ's so please be sure to read them[/b]I checked the FAQ page and found out that the prcessing for payout would be 30 days or one month now. I just hope that they will contib=nue to pay... Personally, I think one month waiting is long but if they will truly pay, that is okay...What is your opinion regarding this matter? | |
| | | Travelling by Volvo bus..a prestige thing. | | Still in india, especially in smaller towns and rural places, travelling by Volvo, an A/c with TV and push back cushion seats is a luxury for most lower and middle class people. Myself, I have to travel by this medium due to the A/c factor (India is a hot country), entertainment and other by compulsion as trains are less to my place. But if a tell a small towner that I travelled by Volvo, its a great matter of fact and they see me with a awe that this person is well settled. People who are earning 10000rs per month can afford this luxury. Other thing I like about Volvo is its look and durability. Only complaint from drivers is that it skids on wet roads... | |

| | | The Pledge-The Turn-The Prestige | | Hi Everybody...I would like, in this discussion about the movie, 'The Prestige', to share certain 'Secrets' of Life revealed in the movie, which I'm sure, the movie makers have carefully and intentionally woven into the movie. It is this subtle rendering, that gives this movie the halo and the charism which keeps 'impressing' all those who watches it. This discussion is only meant to tickle minds and for mutual learning.I believe that the 'magic' in the movie is only an analogy of Life itself...Life which to many still remains a mystery because we want it to be. As in magic so in life, people 'want' to be amazed and therefore in a way refuse to 'see' REALITY as it exists.In the movie we have characters like Nikola Tesla, who represent the very few that opts to see Reality and Principles of Creation unfolds in his words, when he says," I have already begun", in the context of the great Danton having asked him to make him the 'cloning box'. The principle is such that Creation of anything first starts in the Mind and then in the 3D world. This principle, in Tesla's statement, is a very strong affirmative.The 'Box'! The Box that... | |
| | The Prestige ... | | SPOILER WARNING - LAST PARA* Christopher Nolan's my favorite director ... He didn't disappoint me ONE BIT ... and to add to it - the film was another INTELLIGENT MASTERPIECE from him just like MEMENTO ...* The characterization was soooo damn brilliant ... the story was sooo well crafted ... the screenplay was sooo well interlaced with back-and-forth technique ... the twists were sooo well designed to mis-lead and caught me off-guard almost everytime ...* In the end - the climax was just AMAZING ...the background voice saying - "The audience want to get fooled ... so they get fooled." and he shows multiple hugh jackman in many cases ...in my interpretation the machine NEVER was supposed to work ... just like both the diaries of magicians which were meant to mis-guide each other even the machine was supposed to mis-guide jackman into buying it by Tesla ... in the end however both the dupe and the real jackman die however ... the other magician (his competitor) also dies when hanged ... in other words - both of their intentions and greed for success led to their destroying ... 9/ 10 | |
