Pull the racism card out of the deck already!
I know a couple of people who are a different race than I am. One is a lady from work and the other is my business partner's husband. The lady from work is philipino and claims that if someone doesn't like her it's because they are racist. I have to disagree with that and say that it's nothing to do with her culture background and it has everything to do with the way she works. Not very well. For instance, I work in a nursing home and we take care of a lot of residents with alzheimers and dimensia so they have no idea what they are doing. This one man has alzheimers and he is a fighter who never lets anyone help him and wants to struggle with us all the time so she thought he was racist. I found that rediculous! Now the other person I know is my business partner's husband, we own a daycare at her house and everything that goes wrong for him is because he's black. It's really getting on my nerves already everytime I have to hear this. Example: This one lady who was dropping off her daughter in the morning drove off fast a couple times. Now I'm guessing it's because she was running late for work, or maybe she was angry because she's pregnant and she was just having a rough...
We are having our back deck panted and I am not happy with the color!
The deck in our back yard got real rusty and nasty so we had it painted a blue gray color and now I miss the natural wood color. The guy that came out is doing an awesome job but I just am not crazy about the color! Have you ever had something done to your house and then later wish you had not had it done? I attached a photo of our unfinished deck!
The damn squirrel was having sex on my new deck!
The first thing I wanted to do is build a deck on the back of my new home I moved in years ago. Construction of this deck began back in Spring of 2004 as I used a team of one,...myself. The actual build was difficult, but the one thing that kept me going was the thought of me and the misses outside relaxing on the new deck as soon as I was finished. Around the beginning of summer of the same year the deck was completed, inspected and ready to have new outdoor furniture placed on it. I did get all of the furniture built and positioned on the deck for the entirety of the day late into the night, because that is what my wife told me I should agreed with her for me to do. Needless to say I was too tired and sweaty to use the deck that night so with great anticipation I waited to early the next morning. Whenever you are anxious about doing something or going somewhere, you tend to have a picture in your mind how things are suppose to be. I got up early so I can put on one of my "piss my wife off shirt" and blue jeans and made a fresh pot of premium coffee, because I want my neighbors to see me sitting on my new deck relaxing like a retired man in a "A.R.P" commercial. As I took a...

what is the origin of the suits in a deck of playing cards?
it was in europe, where playing cards have been used for at least 800 years, that the cards were divided into groups or suits...each of the suits represented one of the four social classes of life in the middle ages...the novlity were represented by swords, which later became spades.....the clergy were represented by cups, which later became hearts...merchant were represented by coins, which turned into diamonds, and peasants were represented by stases, which later became clubs.
What tarot deck do you work with and why? How did you acquire them?
I have been reading tarot cards pretty much ever since I can remember! When I was a young girl my gift became apparent when I started using 'normal playing cards' to tell stories for people - to start with family and friends. When I was 12 years old I was given my tarot deck from a fantastic reader (I was 'bought' a reading for my birthday from my grandmother who was the first person I read for). She told me that I would use it to read in the back of a shop with. Two and a half years later after getting on with my school work and putting them to the side for a while, I out of the blue walked into a shop and asked if I could read there on a sunday. She said she had been waiting for me and I should come in the next sunday and start. I have worked there on and off (and a few other places and from home) for the last 15 years. I still use the same deck of cards - a Rider Waite set that was over 30 years old when it was given to me. They smell delicious and old-worldy, I often wonder how many 'stories' they have told. For those who read tarot, which deck do you use and why?How old are your cards now?How do you keep them? How did they come into...
Our new deck furniture!
Every year we have a HUGE Labor Day Party with all our family and quite a few friends and neighbors. Last year our deck was finished and that was great. We've been looking for some furniture to put on it and have not had much luck. The year before when they were working on the deck I found something that I loved, but we didn't have a place to keep it and I had to pass on it. Since I saw it at Sam's Club, I knew I'd probably never see it again. We'll we've been looking for the last couple years and found something by accident last night. We also need to get one of those pop-up tent-like things to give us some shade on the deck, so we went to Sam's club to get one. Well, they didn't have any, but I did fall in love with another patio set. We don't really have the money for it, but we can fake it and shuffle some other bills around a bit. I really liked it, and so did my husband, and we knew that if we didn't get it they wouldn't have it when we had the money for it. So, we bought it! We put it together in the rain last night, and we'll most likely eat dinner on it tonight!!!

What deck are you playing? (Magic The Gathering)
I'm playing with UW merfolks now. It's very adaptive and can be played as agro or control depending on the current situation. I'm also building an elf deck around "Immaculate Magistrate" and "Thousand-Year Elixir". What about you?
